Why is the transceiver recognized but DDM/DOM information is missing?

The module may be recognized while diagnostic monitoring is not fully supported by the host platform or compatibility profile. Check whether both the transceiver and network device support DDM/DOM for that interface.

How should I troubleshoot a compatible transceiver that is not recognized?

Confirm the module part number and compatibility profile, reseat the module, inspect the port status, check device logs, verify the operating-system version, and compare the module information reported by the host.

Is FEC important when using high-speed compatible transceivers?

Yes. Forward Error Correction is an important consideration for many 25G, 50G, 100G, 200G, 400G, and 800G interfaces. Both ends of the link must use compatible FEC and interface settings.

Can OEM and compatible transceivers be used in the same switch?
