With a properly compatible module and supported host platform, DOM/DDM values should normally be accessible through the network equipment's management interface.

How do I choose the correct compatible optical transceiver?

Start with the host equipment and port requirements, then match the data rate, form factor, wavelength, reach, connector, fiber type, optical standard, and OEM compatibility. For high-speed interfaces, also verify FEC and other platform-specific requirements.

Does the OEM part number need to match exactly?
