Product Compatibility Mapping

Cross-reference the original manufacturer part number with the corresponding Fiberland part number before confirming the target device and firmware.

No verified part-number mapping is linked to this product yet.

Send the target device brand, model, firmware or OS and port details for an exact compatibility review.

A part-number cross-reference is a model-selection starting point, not a blanket device guarantee. Final fit depends on the exact device, firmware or OS, target port and requested coding profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common compatibility, installation and troubleshooting questions.

Why does the transceiver work after reinserting it?

Reinserting a module forces the host to redetect and reinitialize the transceiver. If this repeatedly resolves the issue, inspect the port, module contacts, firmware behavior, and compatibility profile rather than assuming the optical link itself is faulty.

What does an “unsupported transceiver” message mean?

It usually means the host device does not recognize or approve the identification information stored in the module. It does not necessarily indicate an optical failure.

Can third-party transceivers damage a switch?

A properly designed transceiver that meets the required electrical, mechanical, thermal, and interface specifications should operate within the host platform's intended transceiver interface requirements.

Can a transceiver be compatible with the switch but still fail to link?

Yes. Host compatibility and optical-link compatibility are separate issues. A module may be correctly recognized while the link fails because of fiber, wavelength, FEC, polarity, configuration, or link-budget problems.

What is the difference between equipment compatibility and optical compatibility?

Equipment compatibility determines whether the host device recognizes and operates with the module. Optical compatibility determines whether the two ends of the fiber link can communicate correctly. A successful deployment requires both.
