Is FEC important when using high-speed compatible transceivers?

Yes. Forward Error Correction is an important consideration for many 25G, 50G, 100G, 200G, 400G, and 800G interfaces. Both ends of the link must use compatible FEC and interface settings.

Can OEM and compatible transceivers be used in the same switch?

In many networks, OEM and compatible transceivers are deployed in different ports of the same device. Each module should meet the requirements of its individual interface.
