Is the optical power of a compatible transceiver different from the OEM version?

A compatible replacement should meet the applicable transmit-power and receiver-sensitivity specifications for the interface it is designed to support.

Do compatible transceivers support hot swapping?

Most SFP-family, QSFP-family, and similar pluggable transceivers are designed for hot-pluggable operation according to the applicable interface specification. Host-equipment procedures should still be followed.

Why are the DDM/DOM readings incorrect or abnormal?

Abnormal temperature, voltage, TX power, RX power, or bias-current readings may indicate an optical or hardware issue, but they can also result from incorrect calibration or communication between the compatible module and host device.

Why does my compatible transceiver show low RX optical power?
