Why does the transceiver work after reinserting it?

Reinserting a module forces the host to redetect and reinitialize the transceiver. If this repeatedly resolves the issue, inspect the port, module contacts, firmware behavior, and compatibility profile rather than assuming the optical link itself is faulty.

Can one optical transceiver be compatible with multiple brands?

Yes. The same optical hardware may support multiple equipment brands when it is programmed with the appropriate compatibility profile. Multi-vendor coding options may also be available for certain applications.

Why is EEPROM programming important for compatibility?

Network equipment may inspect the module's EEPROM information before allowing normal operation. Correct programming helps the host identify and manage the transceiver properly.
