Why does a high-speed compatible transceiver show FEC errors?

FEC errors may result from incompatible FEC settings, excessive optical loss, signal-quality problems, incorrect fiber infrastructure, or incompatible link parameters. Verify that both ends use the required FEC mode for the interface.

Can compatible transceivers be reprogrammed?

Absolutely! All of our transceivers can be easily reprogrammed using our standalone offline coding kit. To get started, please share the part number, description, and serial number of your current transceivers, as well as the brands you need them to work with. Our team will generate the corresponding .bin file and send it over with clear instructions so you can update your transceivers immediately.

Can a transceiver be compatible with the switch but still fail to link?

Yes. Host compatibility and optical-link compatibility are separate issues. A module may be correctly recognized while the link fails because of fiber, wavelength, FEC, polarity, configuration, or link-budget problems.

Why does the switch report a vendor or part number different from the physical transceiver label?

Compatible transceivers may contain programmed identification information required by the host platform. The vendor or part number reported by the switch can therefore differ from the manufacturer's physical product label.

How do I find a compatible transceiver for an OEM part number?

Search using the OEM part number and verify the form factor, data rate, wavelength, transmission distance, connector, fiber type, and host-platform compatibility.
