Why does a compatible transceiver work in one switch but not another?

Different switch models, hardware revisions, operating systems, and firmware versions may use different transceiver validation rules. A module compatible with one platform may require different coding for another.

Can compatible transceivers be reprogrammed?

Absolutely! All of our transceivers can be easily reprogrammed using our standalone offline coding kit. To get started, please share the part number, description, and serial number of your current transceivers, as well as the brands you need them to work with. Our team will generate the corresponding .bin file and send it over with clear instructions so you can update your transceivers immediately.

How do I choose the correct compatible optical transceiver?

Start with the host equipment and port requirements, then match the data rate, form factor, wavelength, reach, connector, fiber type, optical standard, and OEM compatibility. For high-speed interfaces, also verify FEC and other platform-specific requirements.

Why does my switch detect the transceiver but not establish a link?

Possible causes include incorrect fiber type, wavelength mismatch, polarity, dirty connectors, excessive optical loss, incompatible link partners, FEC settings, port configuration, or compatibility issues.
